East Valley Central Principal Announced

Based on that, it is with great pleasure the East Valley School District announces the transfer of Mr. Eric Hevland, from his current position as EVC Assistant Principal to his new role of Principal, effective July 1, 2021.

During Mr. Hevland’s seven-year tenure at EVC, the school has moved from being ranked in the bottom 5% of the State, to receiving multiple awards for student growth and achievement. His outstanding work as part of the leadership team during his time, in conjunction with his ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, and community members will make him an excellent Principal at EVC.

Mr. Hevland holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with his minor in Early Childhood Education from Central Washington University and a Master’s of Education in School Administration degree from Central Washington University. He started his educational career in Toppenish, and has taught in Ellensburg and Naches.  Mr. Hevland spent 12 years in the classroom before transitioning in 2014 into educational administration as the Assistant Principal for East Valley Central Middle School.   

Mr. Hevland says, “I’m elated to be given the opportunity to continue EVC’s path of improvement in this new capacity.  East Valley Central has the brightest students and the most dedicated staff that I’ve worked with in my 20 years in education.  I’m grateful to be able continue to serve the community and am looking forward to our shared successes.”
