Principal's Message

Winter Greetings!

All of us here at Moxee Elementary wish you and your family a blessed winter season. We are so thankful to have the children and families we have here at our school. Thank you for trusting us with your most precious gifts.

I encourage parents to make appointments for their children outside of the school day. Often, the first appointment offered is not the only one available. Please always ask. Also, we are requesting that parents do not check students out early. We are having multiple children checked out 10-15 minutes early every day. This impacts their attendance records as well as their education. Our teachers strive to teach bell-to-bell, using every minute available to ensure our children reach their learning goals.

Please take our Satisfaction Surveys. There is a parent and student satisfaction survey on our website. Let us know how we are doing. We are here for your children and want to do our very best for them and you.

Regards,
Liz Hockens

Lettuce Recall

Food Safety Alert

CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are investigating a multistate outbreak of E.coli infections linked to romaine lettuce harvested from the Salinas, California growing region. CDC is advising that consumers not eat any romaine lettuce harvested from the Salinas, CA growing region. While we do not serve romaine lettuce in East Valley, we do serve other varieties of lettuce grown in this region. As a precautionary measure, we have disposed of all lettuce and will not be serving any until after Thanksgiving break. When we return next week we will resume serving our students lettuce grown from another region not linked to this outbreak.
