School Breakfast & Lunch

Online Menu

Reminder: All students in the East Valley School District will receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2022-2023 school year, regardless of family income.

However, it is still important to fill out a Family Income Survey. The surveys are used to determine the amount of state and federal funds allocated to our district. It also may help your child(ren) qualify for other programs for free or with decreased fees (examples of programs include: ASB card, athletics, optional non-credit school club activities, other ASB activities, or AP test fees).

The surveys will be sent home with students the first week of school (in their back-to-school informational packets). Once completed, please return the survey to your student's school.

COVID-19 Information

The Washington State Department of Health updated their COVID-19 guidance for K-12 schools on August 5, 2022. Based on these guidelines, assistance from the Yakima Health District and our District Nurses, the EVSD will have the following requirements:

If a person has symptoms of COVID-19 and tests positive, they will be required to isolate at home for five days.

Note: If they test negative for COVID-19, have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication, and symptoms have significantly improved, they can return to school.

After 5 days of isolating at home they can return to school (fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication and symptoms have significantly improved) and will be offered a COVID-19 test. Home test results will also be accepted.

  • If the test is negative, they will not be required to wear a mask.
  • If the test is positive, they will be required to wear a mask from days 6-10.
  • If they choose not to take a COVID-19 test, they will be required to wear a mask days 6-10.
  • If a person is unable to wear a mask (or other approved device) or refuses to wear a mask, they will be required to isolate at home through day 10.

Additional Masking Information:

All students, staff, and visitors at our East Valley School District schools will have the choice to wear a mask at school and on school buses. It is important that each person or family’s individual choice about mask wearing is respected.  There will be no tolerance for harassment or bullying of others’ personal mask choice. Some may need to wear a mask because they or a member of their household is high risk for severe COVID-19 disease.

EVSD COVID-19 Cases Notification:

Each of our schools will maintain an online database of COVID-19 cases within their school (see link below). The database will include classroom information, bus route number, lunch period, and any extracurricular activities of the individual who tested positive (no student/staff names will be posted). This database will be updated daily for positive COVID-19 cases. While we are no longer required to notify families of “close contact” status, we do encourage our families to check this database frequently to see if your student could have been recently exposed.
